Competitions

Competitions give you the chance to get out into the break for 20 minutes in a heat, while judges assess your rides. You’re judged on the length and quality of your ride, how you use the wave and whether you finish the ride with a flashy exit.

Development Weekend

The surf kayak committee will delivery the following workshops:

Introduction to Surf Kayaking (all day)

Intermediate/advanced Surf Kayak skills (all day)

We will have a variety of surf specific kayaks, for you to try - If you need a boat or kit please let us know in advance and will see if we can accommodate.

We will be holding a beach BBQ (hotdogs) Saturday afternoon for you hungry paddlers after the workshops have finished - included in the cost! Committee members will be staying at the campsite Saturday evening for social and look back at the day , we welcome you to join us !

Sunday - We will be back at the beach (surf dependant) for a fun introduction to Surf Kayak competitions.

Where you will learn everything from Judging and competition etiquette and rules and have a chance to compete against each other in a friendly enviroment- there will be alternative beach activities if no surf.
